Where can I get a large order of fiberglass insulation at a decent price? Buying one piece at a time at Home Depot seems to expensive to be worth it...

@brichter55 maybe a good reply to this is; I started insulating on the USS Sierra AD-18, a destroyer repair ship. I enlisted during the Vietnam war and used many ACMs (Asbestos Contained Materials) no one cared if I was union then. if you have ever done any plumbing, carpentry, masonry, roofing or electrical around your house and did not hire a union guy to do it....... you are a scab too.

AMUSINGISTHEDAWN, the difference between normal house hold foam insulation and fibre glass is the density. Fibre glass is a higher density so will be able to with stand colder temperatures of water without condensating and colder outside temperatures without the pipe freezing.

If it is for freezing purposes I would use 15mm or 20mm think phenolic section insulation as it has twice the density of fibre glass.

@MMAGillz , I aggree it is often times boring but if you are doing an industrial job 80 feet in the air as in a large boiler, percipitator, reactor, catylist tower in a refinery, including pipes and large valves,it can get pretty challenging. If you are doing anything colder than 0 (as in welding gases) it is very challenging. Maybe get off the plumbing lines and LP steam and get after the big stuff where challenge is rewarded with big pay scales too. Insulation works and has purpose
