  • This bill should not b required. All people have a God given right to protect themselves or loved ones against violence, period. My handgun carry permit is the second amendment, or am I missing something that the second says? I also think Illinois should get a clue....

  • Hey if the state accept a drivers licence from other state, then concealed carry permit should have know problem. Concidering that the process is much more in-depth.

  • Georgia does not issue a "Concealed Firearm License", it's a GWL (Georgia Weapons License). With this license, open carry of a pistol is allowed. Why couldn't H.R. 822 simply state "carry", instead of "concealed carry"? It's not always physically comfortable to stuff a pistol inside your pants, or under a shirt, especially in hot weather. Open carry is a public exercise of your 2nd Amendment rights, and also a 1st Amendment exercise as well. And it helps to deter crime.

  • Reading many of the comments here, and from other videos on this, it shows that many people have not read the Bill, nor do they have any understanding of the Constitution. Seriously, read.

  • @neanderthor66 Read Article 2, Section 7 of the U.S. Constitution.

  • @firecracker187 You seriously need to actually read the Bill.

  • Not sure where people are getting all the "Gun owner List" and "place for the government to get your name" comes from. No where in the bill does it CREATE any new bureaucracy or control organization; the only thing it does is force all states to honor every other state's concealed carry licenses. It does not create a "National Concealed Carry License" or anything like that, licensing would still be entirely under the jurisdiction of the states as it is now.

  • I cannot see a problem with this... If you can legally carry in your state why not any other state? Do they think when you cross the state line you turn into a criminal?

  • Just gives the feds another source of gun ownership. When they come for them!

  • Ted Poe spewed out typical Blue Rhino Republican diatribe. Worthless. We have a right to carry, and the damn states have no right to regulate our Second Amendment rights. While the bill is obviously headed in the right direction, it by no means accomplishes the desired objective. We need legislation that dictates to the federal, state and local governments that they have no right to set conditions of ownership. Total crap. Time to lock 'n load.

  • another lame attempt for the man to keep tabs on us..

at least its a PROgun legislation and not an anti.. FOR NOW

  • forget the 2nd amendment?
