well the judoka in white did have no grip at all. without gripping at all, you cannot defend against ANYTHING. neverthelss a nice creative move from the blue one!
@afhostie Kata Guruma done traditionally (grabbing the leg) as an initial attack was banned. The IJF changed the rules in 2010 where one could not grab the leg as an initial attack. However, that doesn't mean one can't use kata guruma as an initial attack. It just means you have to be innovative and the video is an excellent example of that.
