http://www.nevadamusic.co.uk/Keyboards-and-Pianos/Digital-Pianos/Stage-Pianos... This is a new stage keyboard from Roland and they are calling it the ultimate stage keyboard - probably because it is a hybrid keyboard that incorporates the best bits from a stage hammond organ and a stage piano and presents them here in 1 keyboard that they have dubbed the V- Combo VR-700.

Essentially there are two parts to this keyboard - a set of organ drawbar type control prameters - obviously for configuring and shaping the organ sounds - for which there are 9 configurable organ sounds and blended multiples thereof. The organ sounds are very realistic and there are great overdrive options and leslie cabinet simulations to really get that classic organic grinding organ sound. The other side is a set of 65 "ensemble" sounds that are perhaps the more traditional keyboard and piano sounds with a smattering of rhythm patterns (51 actually) and a full compliment of General MIDI 2 samples.

The keyboard itself is semi-weighted velocity sensitive 76 note affair - a kind of cross between the feel of an organ and a stage piano, as stated earlier there are 65 ensemble sounds - a traditional set of inputs for damper/hold/controller pedals and a USB interface for loading data via a memory stick such as MIDI files etc. As per ususal there is also MIDI IN/OUT plus XLR outs for connecting to a PA along with a headphone input.

  • @RayManz....Yes, If this keyboard had separate outputs for each section, the cash in my pocket would be in Roland's hands.

  • @1980sCoverband Right on... That organ would be beast if you could hook it into a real Leslie... Such BS that it doesn't have a seperate outfit... Wtf were they thinking?

  • @fOrGoTmYnAmE4 wtf?

  • this or the nord electro 3?

  • The ONLY reason I refused to purchase this keyboard is due to the lack of independent output for each of the 3-Sections..... especially, the Organ needs its own separate 1/4" or Leslie Pin output.

  • this sht cost 6000

  • i agree about the leslie output connection. i was at a roland clinic with ed diaz and i was blown away at how he adjusted the leslie effect and it can put a killer leslie sound. i think one of roland corp weakness is not putting out the best presets but as ed diaz has shown me, you can go into the instrument and get killer effects and sounds. i guess thats one reason why he gives the clinics.

  • Im very displeased with the Roland VR-700. How you going to build a organ and don't have the option of hooking it to an external leslie. I must say that the organ sound is better than previous models but my old technics keyboard can make a better leslie simulator than this.
