@Polly1942 On point. Pookie Hudson was a polished, professional, deeply soulful lead singer, who along with greats like Nolan Strong, Leroy Griffin, Fred Paris, Jesse Belvin, Clyde McPhatter, Sam Cooke, Jerry Butler, and too many others to name, set the standard for black secular vocal greatness. These people left a legacy of excellence and talent that remains contemporary and new, even years later. We are literally blessed to be able to listen to it, and I am agnostic. This is blissful to hear.

@Polly1942 A year ago, my wife, daughter and I stumbled across an a-capalla doo wop group performing on the streets of NYC in Greenwich Villiage. I could have died happy, on the spot, right then and there. This stuff, performed live and three feet from you, is something you can't describe.

My dad used to tour with the Spaniels. He sang lead with The Dream Kings from Chess/Checker. I grew up hearing some great stories of back stage memories. RiP to all these great doo woppers!

This is real singing, real singing, now tell me where do you hear anything like this, unless you are fortunate enough to own this record. Yes record, thanks for sharing and making my evening.
