This is a nice traditional Irish song called The Humours of Ballyloughlin, played on a Busman D+ penny whistle made of purpleheart. I managed to miss turning off the camera at the end so you get to watch me fumble around like a doofus for a few seconds.

  • you have a beautiful collection... have you made those?

  • @dakporto Oh no, I haven't made any of them with the exception of one that I put some finishing bits on.

  • wow. ok i just started officially playing today, and i wish i could play like that! haha maybe after a while, but def. not now. where can i get sheet music, i'm ambitious. great job!

  • Thanks! This particular setting is very similar to Matt Malloy's, but the music actually came from Grey Larsen's book The Essential Guide to Irish Flute and Tin Whistle. If you're serious about learning, I can't recommend his book enough. It covers everything from history and theory to ornamentation and full on transcriptions of great players. It's available at Grey Larsen's site and if you're looking for lots of free tunes, check out The Session site. (I sent you the sites in a message) :)
