Nice!!! Bought an 85 brand new, 13 years of loyalty it gave me. Put 170,000 miles on it, it was worn out and tired. Man, that car flew with that 305 Tuneport Injection!!!! I miss my red rocket.

Cool car!! I remember when these cars first came out and thought they were awesome!! Still are!! Their not the fastest TA's but their still a Trans Am!!

@jakesaintsrow123 Liked the 85 TA (hide away headlights) over the Camero. Did look at the 86 Buick Grand National which was a nice car but it looked to much like dad's Oldsmobile. Did not test driven the turbo version which had good performance

Did look at the vet but it was out of my price range - it didn't really have much over this TA anyway. What I probably would have bought new would have been the 1986 V6 2 seater Pontiac Fiero GT - didn't like the pre85 style. Met a guy later who turbo'd that car. Given its small wheel base and plastic body (no weight) it was very quick.

Had the 85 with TPI also though we called them 5 litre and not 305 here in Canada. Was radar gunned at 235km/hr or 147mph once with tthe gas pedal not on the floor. This was a stock car! Drove it for 10 years 100k miles I think. Sold it to me brother in law who drove it another 5 years. 15 years of year round hard driving. Was a great car. Only issues I had was blew out the head gaskets three times over those ten years. Looked just like the video execpt had the wider tires/mags.

i love how alot of the 80s cars had digital dashes. it just looked so ahead of thier time

@jakesaintsrow123 No, I was determined to get a TRANS AM!!!!! I have always been a Pontiac junky. My favorite is the '73 TRANS AM but hard to fine a nice one. 455 H.O., 4-speed= POWER!!!

say...when you bought it brand new...did you Look at anything else? Any other cars in the 1985 Model Year that you Liked....considered....or Looked at? did you Look at any other pontiacs?

GM put alot of money into specialized California ads for their cars.;.In Florida I just got the generic nationwide ads..bummer
