Slovak movie Ako divé husi (Like wild geese). Triptych of one family of a Slovakian Juraj Kypús from north-eastern Austro-Hungarian Monarchy in the 19. century. I chose extracts of the movie.

The movie shows the reality in Kingdom of Hungary (19. century) when Hungarian government used the church, educational system, police and army as tools of magyarization of non-magyar nations which still created more than 50% of population in the monarchy. Government established organization FEMKE for magyarization of Slovak children, which was financed on the money of Matica slovenská (Slovak cultural organization - later prohibited). This money came from contributions of Slovaks. As a result of it were more than 60.000 Slovak children kidnapped by the FEMKE from Slovak families (from north - Slovakia) and deported in stock-cars to new Magyar families (to south - Hungary) - they had to become Magyars. Some of them died, some of them escaped back home.

NOTE : There's no reason to hate present Magyar nation because of these events (except for chauvinists). Present Magyar generation is not responsible for magyarization in the 18.-20. cent. There was even "one noneuropean group of inhabitants" which performed magyarization more forcefully than anybody else.......

Storyline :
- daughter of Juraj Kypús is crying because teacher in school beats her and other children... they don't speak Magyar.
- Juraj Kypús, now prominent director of factories, reproaches the teacher for beating children. He says it is good to speak many languages including Magyar, but not on the expense of native language! The teacher answered he is charged to do magyarization.
- his son Vojtech is working as a judge in Budapest and he is getting married a daughter of prominent citizen in Sopron. His father Juraj, a Panslavist, is unhappy because of Vojtech's decision to become a Magyar (he does it because of his fiancée and career). The fiancée's father is very satisfied with him, even he said him that he knows his situation because he is actually a Slovakian himself - Maťo Múčka from Zázrivá. /That was reality in the monarchy. Most of Slovak aristocrats changed their nationality./
- village Veľké Rovné (Slovakia) has a new priest who reproaches people for their disregard for Magyar aristocracy. People are indignant, they even built new church themselves.
- Vojtech is coming home because he needs money. His father is blaming him for betrayal of the nation.
- a bishop is coming to the village to christen a new bell. Juraj Kypús is becoming a godfather of the bell even despite of disapproval of new priest. The priest is promising the retaliation ('the army will come').
