Affairs of Cappy Ricks

Sea captain Cappy Ricks returns home after a long voyage and finds his family and business in utter chaos. His daughter is intent on marrying a nitwit that he can't stand. While the man's mother has taken over his business and intends to merge it with a rival company. Worst of all, in the interest of "progress", she has completely automated his beloved ship, "Electra". Determined to put an end to all of this nonsense, Cappy comes up with a fool proof plan to set things right again. But will it work?

Affairs of Cappy Ricks is a 1937 comedy starring Walter Brennan as Cappy, Mary Brian, & Lyle Talbot.

Brennan made a fortune during the twenties and lost it all due to the 1929 Crash. Broke, he took a job as an extra and became an actor.

He won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor 3 separate times, the record for most wins by a male, tied with Jack Nicholson.

His career never went into decline, in all, he would appear in more than 230 film and television roles in a career spanning five decades.
