OK, so I am confused. Is it lawful according to the Koran to have an image of Muhammad or not?

@joelwhitson Quran says nothing about the matter, but the Prophet Muhammad PBUH made it very undesirable, to draw ANY living creature, let alone his own picture....

all crap.. shia's dont consider this or any other image as the image of the holy prophet.(pbuh) .these pics are imaginary pics of imam ali, to which shia's do not worhip in any for. beign a shia myself id prefer not to have such a pic becasue it would result in behatbi. shia follow only what the holy prophet and the ahlebait follow. nothing less nothing more.

Dear People, i did not read all of your comment, but few that i read have make me understand that all of you are fighting/debate with each other, I am not with either side....One says shia is right, and one opposite...I just want to share my opinion...what does it matter?...Any religion prays to GOD that matters..

Shia Fiqh does not allow this stuff to be done, but people still do it. The elders do not like it, but this generation has made it a norm. And 400-500 years ago the Ottomans did the same thing. This is like listening to music, it is considered Haraam, but still done....

@joelwhitson Koran doesn't say about it. Muhammad Saw himself told us not to make pictures of him because people will put pictures in their homes and worship them or stare at them as of it's holy. But the picture is Imam Ali. This is Prophet Muhammads cousin not him
