Oh, and keep in mind that the first thing people are inclined to do when they think something is funny, funny-haha or funny-unexpected, is laugh. Not to mention they were probably a little/lot drunk there...

Sure it is, but if you think he didn't combine the tune, lyrics and tone to make it funny, not funny-haha, but funny-unexpected, then you're fooling yourself. He's an entertainer.

haha I think it's everyone's first reaction to laugh. It sounds all sweet and slow, and then the first line is "pack up your shit", followed by "shut the fuck up", all over a nice pleasant little melody. It just took everyone a while to notice that he wasn't laughing.
