He had the surgery because a cyst formed in his vocal cords from an untreated throat infection , and they had to remove it.

@sakuramanganime At a concert his voice started going, so he went to a doctor about it, and they said his throat or his rib cage or something has swelled, or something was formed in there and they had to cut it out. I forgot exactly what happened but you can look it up.

Because he's German. xD Ha his mother tongue is German. English is very difficult for all of the boys and it is much much easier to speak in German rather than English.
