  • Actually, I rather like the UI as is--nice and clean.

From a usability standpoint, I'd really love to see two things:

1- a faster way to flag. Moving my hand and eye away from the identified flag is distracting. Ideal would be a multitouch support: hold down the left thumb on a hotspot in the lower-left corner, and when you right-tap you place a flag instead of looking. I could do that motion without losing my focus on the important spot.

  • @klerulo Yeah I want to add the ability to flag by a long tap. So you don't even have to use the button. I'm sure I will figure that out and be able to add it in well before release.

  • very simple UI . but its great to see the classic game on WP7. will give it some press on 1800PocketPC

  • @WindowsMobileApps Thanks! The UI I am leaving for last to clean up. My primary goal was to get the gameplay working correctly first since this is my first program written in Silverlight.

  • did u use the software microsoft was offering to create apps for it's marketplace?

  • at 0:56, instead of clicking on the square (the one that would become a 2) double tap on the 1 thats next to a flag and the square would become a 2 on its own. (hopefully that makes sense) also, i'd get rid of the gradients in the menus. the metro UI just uses colors, not gradients. so maybe make the background all blue, black or whatever color, just no gradients so its consistent with the UI. also you should make some sort of animation when you win/lose like the computer version (exploding!)

  • @klerulo 2- a way to assert. For example, if I'm looking at a "2" square and there are two flags set next to it, asserting that square means opening all non-flagged squares. (I think middle-mouse-button did this in Windows.) The same multi-touch motion I mentioned above would work great here.

Those two changes would let an experienced player race through the board.
