what are the pros and cons between this still and the old one you were talking about? thanks.

@huffs4: It should taste like rubbing alcohol because for all intents and purposes it IS about the same as rubbing alcohol. Shouldn't have much of an aftertaste atall if it's good stuff.
Like my pappy says "It ain't the taste, it's the burn."

So, 190 proof huh? Lets see the hydrometer in your parrot, then I'll believe... Nice job, but gotta see the numbers bro.

how much u got into it i wana get into making moonshine

Ever run your rig with the water cooling lines reversed? I bet it runs better if you do. Also, ever thought of adding a dephlagamater to the top of the column? Drop me a note if you're interested in the one I made from 10' of copper tubing and some stainless feedthru fittings. You can control the cooling of it with a needle valve and get even better product from your unit. This design is pretty primitive by todays standards of home distilling, but it's still fun huh? LOL Nice work.

What does your condenser consists of? Does your water have a copper pipe inside your large 2" pipe?
-
would that short length of plastic really affect taste of spirit?

Do yourself a favor go to the hardware store and get some toilet base bolts there flanged and Brass or copper better than those won`t rust

Nice,... I'm building the same reflux column, seems to work pretty well. What did you put inside of it? I'll use marbles,.. It should work. Another thing, I got a 0,3hp (250 watt) pump to recirculate the water from a 160 liters tank,.. but its to much volume of flow (almost 90 lt per minute), so I'll reduce the electrical feeding with an adjustable switch (dimmer). Well, good luck for everybody,.. Cheers!!!
hey mountainjack love the still hahaha

@otta83 Thanks brother! I like the idea of the garbage can for water. I may have to try that out myself!

nice job on your still. i have the same plains saved on it. looks like your burnner is not getting enough air into the air/gas mixture from all of the black on the sides of your boiler keg. this is the first video i have seen on this set up. good job. i would not use the hose from your cooler to jug. when you get some extra cash replace it with some copper line. you should see a better flavor.

@jkc0122 Thanks partner. I use the cheapest burner I could get my hands on. I plan on maectric still soon using elements from water heaters. I have to get my keg welded though. Check out otta83's setup. His is pretty much identical to mine.

Cooling management stills don't work nearly as well as ANY of the other fractioning columns commonly used. Can you ever achieve FULL reflux? Also if it 180-190 proof WHY ARE YOU LETTING IT COME IN CONTACT WITH THAT PLASTIC HOSE? I bet that hose was clear when you started... STUFF FROM THAT CLEAR HOSE IS GOING INTO YOUR ALCOHOL. Very scary.... this is how people get poisoned.

@kingearwig, By the way, the hose is just as clear now as when I started using it. I'm so glad you have the perfect still. I hope you enjoy your stuff...
