I was honored and privileged to have known Scott Plank from when I was a teenager. I am posting a portion of his Memorial that took place in Los Angeles on 31 October 2002 shortly after his untimely death, just shy of his 44th birthday. I know the public is able to see this video, but I have posted it on YouTube mostly for all of us who went to school with him in the Performing Arts. I happened to show it to friends, who are also Performing Arts Alumni, in December 2010, and just by their reactions, I will now share it with all of you. I am proud to have called Scott Plank my friend. He was an awesome talent (easily a triple threat, probably a quadruple threat if there is such a thing) whose star burned out much too soon. He always said he would make it in Hollywood, and I'll be damned if he didn't.

The following link will take you to Scott's on-line Guest Book:

  • He did die in his home. He did not go to the hospital after the car accident thinking it was minor so I've been told.

  • Dear Scott, Your passion for life, your laughter, your amazing talent and complete fearlessness, the times we shared are forever etched in my memory...RIP dear friend...you are missed....

  • Wow! I am a fan of him and seen the tribute of him in the movie holes. I just love him soo much! So glad you all had a time with him in real life. I have always loved the movie he was in. Heavan is a place where I believe I wont need an autograph cuz I know I will personally meet him.

  • Wow ! I just happened to look for Scotty on facebook and was led to google ! I am very surprised , did not know of Scotts accident . We played baseball here in LA in the late 90's and had kept in touch for a while . What a good guy , very active , personable , fun loving spirit !

  • A beautiful tribute. I just got a DVD of L.A. TAKEDOWN, as I was reconstructing Michael Mann's reworking those crime themes. So there was Scott Plank as Hanna, and I wondered the usual "Whatever happend to... " Not to be morbid, but could someone tell me if it is true that he was found at his desk? Someone claimed that elsewhere. One presumes after a car accident, he might have been in the hospital.

  • I knew Scott for a little bit here in Los Angeles through my friend David and Aunt Patty. He was a good guy, wish he was still around.
