Bald Eagles perched atop a church steeple

In the downtown neighbourhood of Strathcona in the city of Vancouver, bald eagles use this tall church steeple as a place to perch. I almost always see eagles perched here when I walk by and finally got around to filming it. The church is located at the corner of Pender and Princess.
Methinks Stephen Colbert would love this.

My guess is that Stephen jr. is the one hogging the cross top, making sure the other eagle lands to his right, not the left.

Filmed in downtown Vancouver, BC, Canada. I cannot tell you how many times I have seen Eagles in the city being harassed by crows.

If you look closely, the one Eagle is wearing an American flag lapel pin.

That bird is the real deal.

I hate to say it but after looking on how old Stephen jr. is nethier of these eagles are Stephen jr. as they are both adult eagles of at least 5 years old, while Lil Stephen would be about 2 years old as I post this meaning he does not have the white head or white tail as of yet, he would be mainly brown all over. Now I watched this video a few times and I suspect these 2 are mates with the large female on top of the cross and the smaller male flying on and off the cross and then pearching.

Nice job. These guys have been hanging out up there for the last five years, at least. And many people in the neighbourhood are oblivious to it. Nice to see them have a moment (or 3) of fame. You must've spent a while filming them, or got them at a particularly exciting few moments. Cool.
