君が代 Kimi Ga Yo, National anthem of Japan, Dr Jung Jing 日本國歌,景種. April 21, 2011. This song, I learn it within 3 hours. The notes are easy and simple for playing with a recorder. The challege is that there are 11 measures. Each quarter note is twice longer than the quarter notes in the National Anthem of the United States. Therefore, a person needs to have big lung to hold enough air to finish one measure. I believe that there are two places, I might need to finish two measures with one breath. I need to learn how to breath properly.
This song, the notes are clear and simple. It is not complicated at all. This also reflects the culture of Japanese. They make the things simple and friendly. Such as Japanese cars; they are simple and friendly for the drivers. This is an interesting thought of mine. However, when you go slow, you can feel the respect to their emperior. You have a feeling of meditation, or Zhen禪, praying祈禱.
I find that most the national anthems makes about 60 seconds. This song also takes about 60 seconds for most performers in the You-Tube videos. Therefore, this song really need be slow.
