  • If it were possible to bring an artist back to life, it would have to be Janis! This world could use some of that real soul. No other artist poured out their feeling like she did. Her stuff was f**king real.

  • There's no way you can listen to this song and not go "My. Fucking. God." I feel like my guts just spilled out onto the floor...In a good way.

  • @hernandeza30 what a treat that would be, real musicians.

  • Pearl kicked heroin.

She and I are still engaged.

  • Just imagine if Janis and Jimi had kids together. OMG!

  • @TheDurtybit I couldn't agree more with you: Janis would be my choice, too!

  • @TheGypsyblue awww ♥ thanks :) Im 12 or 13 again every time I hear this.. My sister is in her room blasting this. Shes getting ready for a date or somethin and tellin me about this woman whos singing and ....wow.....now Im older and she ( my sister) is still the one particular person who gets the credit for my musical obsessions. Love my sis so much. xx PEACE and blessings to ya Gypsy.~~ "Jenny"

  • "Down On Me" (the studio version, not this live version) was originally a B-side from the 1st unsuccessful 1967 Big Brother & the Holding Company album. After the massive success of the 2nd 1968 Big Brother & the Holding Company album, "Cheap Thrills," this live recording of "Down on Me' was released as a single to great success. It was recorded sometime in 1967 or 1968. It is my personal fvorite live version of Joplin in concert. She is at her best.
