Got any high tension overhead power lines nearby? This sounds like what I've been plagued with here for a few years.Much raised noise floor, peaks in horrible little patches, usually right on the frequency I need. It comes up sometimes for days at a time, then disappears often for the same length of time until you think you're shot of it. Then, back it comes. Ofcom suspect leaky overhead power line insulators. Does it vary with weather conditions? Start/stop when it's windy/wet/dry?

Hi G0IFI.
I've actually worked out what/who this is. It's my neighbours TV set up. They have Sky+ with a triple LNB. Their TV is a 40 or so inch LG LCD TV. I can only assume its something "gone" in a switch mode PSU. The QRM usually goes around 1am, but sadly they often leave the TV on during the day with no-one in the house :/
It's around 20kHz wide and probably 60kHz apart. Strongest on around 80mtrs or so. My Wellbrook ALA-100 can get rid of some of it but not all.
David.
