http://bit.ly/x3wT0h Sony Xperia S review by Phones 4u. You didn't read it wrong, the Ericsson title is deliberately absent. Sony are taking their new range of mobile phones into 2012 - completely alone. We take a look to see if Sony's new Android Gingerbread phone can impress us with its 12MP camera, High Definition (HD) screen and NFC capabilities (which will allow phones to share information with other NFC enabled devices just by bumping each other!) Sony are striving at allowing its smartphones to seamlessly connect with other Sony TVs, laptops and tablets to open new worlds of online entertainment. The Playstation Network and Sony Entertaiment will obviously have a part to play in this grand plan. Subscribe to us to keep up to date with the latest Sony mobile developments.

The Xperia S is actually the first Android phone from the tech giants after buying out Ericsson for £875m in October last year. Sony say that their new direction is "less of a name change and more of a game change". • May i request to know hw e phone cover opens n where e sim card slot is located? Removable batt?

  • @whitedevilkai the rear cover is removed from the back giving you access to the sim card, micro SD slot and battery. Hope that helps? If you want to find out more information then check out our website or find us on Facebook.

    Thanks.

    Chris @Phones4u

  • You were obviously covering "Ericsson" after Sony with your finger at 0:13... Thought it was Sony NOT Sony Ericsson :/

  • @XclusiveAaron Hey,

Good spot there, nothing gets past you! The version we had was a pre-release unit but we can assure you that the handset that will appear in the shops will indeed be branded as the Xperia S from Sony. When we get our hands on the final version we will be taking another look so be sure you to check back for the full review.

    Cheers,

    Phones 4u

  • Dear Dean, I like your style and cut-to-the-chase spiel - really! A request: when you do the full review of Xperia S, will you please do a thorough going-over of its video-recording capabilities??

It seems that most modern brands are still getting away with slightly disappointing video cameras and images - but I hear the S should be exceptional, and I'm banking on it. I'd like phones4u to really put it through the test.

Thank you Dean, Chris, et al

  • @XclusiveAaron The prototypes are branded sony ericsson because sony only properly bought the ericsson part last week! The actual sale model will be branded as Sony

  • The worst part is the phone does not come with ICS!

  • See here is the problem Sony brings out Xperia S now and MWC is at the end of the month. Quad core handsets will be the end of this. This phone should have came out last year along side the Galaxy S 2 and Iphone 4s

  • HAHA notice how he constantly has too hold his finger over the top of the phone where it says "ericsson" :D

  • very sexy accent god I love the british.

  • @KKCF26 They have the device so that they can tell you that it does have a micro SD slot

  • @phones4u

If I am not mistaken, I think Xperia S doesn't have amicro SD slot in it.

  • its mr bean's little brother :P

  • Does anyone he is hoding the ericsson part on the top
