This is part 2 of five This film spends a week behind the scenes with Network SouthEast to find out what lies behind rail commuters' misery. There are weekend engineering works that overrun, blocked lines to Charing X, a suicide under a train at Petts Wood, security alerts, irate passengers and a shortage of 33 drivers.

  • see 9:30 the nse trains still lives

  • "and you get abuse from the ticket inspectors aswell"

Well maybe because you didn't have a ticket?

  • oh gosh i remember this. the cancellations, the red gates being slammed in people's faces. horrifying but funny to watch now.

  • Profits before the service . Assett stripping. I worked for BR 80 to 86. Makes me sad to watch this.

  • not sure why these trainspotters are complaining about the service maybe they left there flask at home or something its funny how the customers play up to the camera there be crying in their soup now that the slammers have gone nse ohh the good old days lol

  • What a good video. Amazing to see what trains were like before i was born. Nice video :)

  • I like the clip of the poshie at 6.47

  • What a farce

  • I still think that the EPBS were the best, in saying that though the 465's are good as well. Living in Slade Green I would say that though. lol

  • Do they still have those massive security gates on the end of platforms today, or were they just there to stop rioting NSE passengers!

"Whenever a train meets an MP coming down the line, an almighty derailment is inevitable." (sorry can't remember who said that, but its not my own)

At the time and today, privatisation was the only way forward
