  • Umm, can anybody point me in a direction on how to learn Gaelic. I'd like to learn Scottish since ancestors were Scottish, but if Irish is easier to get a hold of, then I guess I'll take what I can.

  • @darkmaer

There's a college on Skye that do lots of Distance Learning Gaelic courses!

    Sabhal Mor Ostaig, Google them!

  • Mari is your name in Welsh :)

  • @albagubragh01 Wow. Ha, I get that you blame the English for your Gaelic issues but who's to blame for the fact that you can't speak English either?

You would most likely have to get a private tutor who specialises in the Gaelic Language.

  • I live in Manchester as well! It is still true today that they don't ell you of the gaelic language. I am in year 8, and the way I came to find out about Gaelic was through a film called 'THE EAGLE'. It struck me at how different the language sounds, and this language is one of many I wish to learn in my life-time. I love linguistics, and in schools today there is never many extra-curricular clubs or extra classes for those who enjoy and invest their time into linguistics.

  • how would I learn scottish gaelic in america?

  • hmmm weird... never spoke to an english person whos proud(or even admits it) to be a mixed ethnicity..... they always explain to me how anglish and saxon they are....... oh no, some claim to be Viking-decendants.

Refreshing to see somebody who falls out of that.

  • sounds a bit self righteous to me but.....how u getting on with the learning?

  • Obviously, you have a need of those languages because you have a need of an identity that the multiculturalists are depriving people like you, who actually have a claim to your country’s history and heritage.

  • despite the negative comments, She has a point her true culture is erased by modern political education. Not to mention she has a class about her 99 percent will never be able to appreciate. She is pretty foxy as well

  • Bhí do físsáin go híonteach, lean ort leis an obair maith. :P

  • You are one cool chick..

  • @darkmaer google Ulpan and you'll find that is one of the best methods
