This is a test video to see the quality of my camera, the Canon VIXIA HF11
http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid...

The files come out as .m2ts format, BUT, if you right click it or just double click the file, click the list of options to select the program to run that file, then click windows media player, and when the window comes up asking you to run, say yes and check the box to not ask again then your video will run no problem! (Just a little tip I learned on my own without having to find a program to watch it)

The video that is uploaded here, is a rendered video. Just the video itself no effects or music (yet). I rendered it to an h.264 MPEG-4 with these settings:

Ratio: W1080xH720
Frames/Sec: 29.97
Kbits/sec: 6000

YouTube EASILY accepts this format RAW, thank God! and so does my editor, but it's cool it accepts it raw ;D - IT ALSO HAS THE "Watch in HD" button INSTANTLY!!! (After processing the video it will have the "Watch in HD" button instantly... So far that's happened with me for two tests)

Now, about this video here - this is a rendered video of my sister's/mom's two horses (2 of 7) the black one's name is "Justin" and the Orange's (to me it looks orange) name is "Angel" and my oldest sister's dog "Penny"

The file I'm uploading/that's uploaded (the one you're watching) is approximately 23.4 MB (24,566,449 bytes) for a 32 second HD 1280x720/30p video.

  • I just picked up this cam, might I ask what program you used to convert the video to MPEG-4?

  • Actually, believe it or not, YouTube accepts this video file AS IS, lol, and to convert to flash aswell (for editing) I used Pinnacle Ultimate Movie Maker 12

  • doggie!

  • xD

    her name is Penny :P

  • Why render interlaced?

  • I rendered the video too small I think, when I ran it through pinnacle, cause now when I render it 1920x1080, it does interlace, this was 1080x720

    Hahhahhaha nice.

So glad you put that in the title. lmao.

    five stars

  • I rendered the video to a smaller size than what it was originally, with a slower frame rate, this is the rendered version though, so go check out the RAW version - youtube has a problem when it's in HD though, it goes in slow motion and the audio is messed up, but if you look at the other one normally, no HD button or HQ button, just normal, the audio/video is fine.

    here it is:
