Dude, you are a brilliant artist and animator and I am honestly not sure whether the subtly dark tone of your animation impedes that brilliance or not. But if you're considering a future in this (and I think you should, you are very talented), you might want to consider that some people pick up on these dark undertones.

@SharksKid I already do animate for a living, and I should hope people do pick up on them, ricky sounds extremely unhinged in his laughter, and so the visuals represent that! (I've done other animations without any creepyness)
