Drying wet walls, ceiling and oak hardwood floors with no repairs needed. Water damage clean up and repair of severely flooded home wet from the top down from a broken pipe on the second floor. To dry the cupped oak hardwood I used an Injectidry System, with a custom mat applied to the wood floor. I let it dry for 3 days and all the cupping and buckling flattened out completely. Even the polyurethane floor finish was fine and did not need to be refinished. To dry the wet walls and damaged ceiling I used an ELE 6400 Heat Drying System, Drieaz Dri-force and a Phoenix HT dehumidifier. The combination of this drying equipment created heat and very dry air that was directed and focused on the wettest areas greatly speeding up the water damage repair without needing demolition.
Knowing how to properly create a heat drying chamber and using an ELE Heat Drying Machine is the key to success. These walls and ceiling were wet plaster and they dried in-place in 3 days. this system can even be used to dry out ice dam water damage. • How long did it take to dry the hardwood floor with the poly you put down?

  • @Propertyexit The poly is over a breathable membrane applied to the water damaged wood floor. The perimeter is sealed with painters tape, and an Injectidry machine is hooked up to draw the moisture out. It took 3 days to completely dry the flooded wood floor. The floor was flat with no cupping and the finish was fine. This method allows you to still work while drying the floor. You can walk on and work on the surface while the wet floor below the poly dries.

  • Hi Clay, nice job on the drydown! I wanted to know what the yellow mat system is you are using to dry the hardwood floor? The resuce mats are to small for larger areas and I like what you did here. I see you covered it with with 4 mill polly, and did you hook the injectidry unit directly to the polly or is there some kind of attachment under the polly? Job looks great, saved the homeowner and insurance a lot of money!

  • @jcscarpetcleaning The material is "Home Slicker" by Benjamin Obdyke, It is a drainage plain material that I picked up at Moore's Lumber nearby. It is perfect for drying wet hardwood floors. It can be custom cut to fit the wet wood floor area. Poly taped over the damaged floor and material. Then the Injectidry System added at one end. A large area of wet oak flooring can be dried and saved with one piece of 2" hose. We have saved many soaked hardwood floors with this method. Good Luck! Clay

  • Great video, lots of information in this and some new ways for me to try drying wood floors..Thanks

  • What is this called? Just water damage repair? I believe there's a pipe leaking in my two story home and has caused the ceiling of my downstairs bathroom to pucker. I want to get this repaired before it turns into a bigger nightmare.
