USS Fletcher DD-992 weapons demonstration

On May 29, 2004 during a tiger cruise from Pearl Harbor to San Diego, the ship's crew put on a demonstration of Fletcher's gun systems. Weapons: Phalanx CIWS (Close In Weapons System), 5"/54 caliber naval gun, 30 cal. minigun & 50 cal. Browning machine gun.

The occasional bleep and static lines on the tape were caused by the ship's radar. Fletcher was decommissioned in San Diego on October 1, 2004.

The sound crew on duty chose the music, it was being broadcast via loudspeakers on the helo deck at the time and is not a sound track added later. It was much more impressive live than in this little video!

@Ebbonified no, it was the air search radar. the an-sps 40. the surface search was the an-sps 10.
