I just cant believe they allowed this to happen, that these "Plans' were allowed to be exposed on the national media. I have to believe that The Bush administration was gnashing their teeth on this one. somebody's head must've hit the chopping block on this--what a leak! What a blunder! We basically TOLD Iran that we were going to undermine them, and naturally, they got ready for it and put it down.
i am telling you, the post election protests and up-risings were caused not by CIA, but the anger of Iranians from 30 yrs of living under oppression, it was like a bubble ready to burst, the later, the more explosive now fortunately, regardless of the British 7BBC attempt to avoid the idea of regime change, iranians are changeing the direction of so called the green movement from Mousavi's reform crap to secular democracy
The CIA and MI6 want regime change for Iran, they just want someone who will cater to their wishes. That's what the 1953 coup was about. When the Show was overthrown there were many Iranians who came to the US as exiles, so if they were exiles from the overthrow of the show, that should make you wonder.
It would be like someone overthrowing the Bush administration in the US and having all of his cronies run to another country.
I know about that report re Uzbakistan torture by their gov & CIA's silence first of all the US doesn't support torture, but i that's how some governments run their countris as long as not a threat to global security, they'd ignore 2nd if the people of a nation can't make desisions on their own & unite against a dictator, it's because of their own stuppidity, so let them learn the hard way untill democracy naturally rise from the ashes of dictatorship
If you let the US help you with your regime change, then you will get another Shaw because that's who the US is going to back.
My government would never support a leader who isn't going to totally screw you over and they wont care if your leader boils you to death as long as the US corporations get what they want.

also the CIA is not representing the US interest in many cases and instead represents its own financial or strategic interests unrelated to national security and even sometimes more damaging to the US than any other country in case of Iran, Shah regime wasn't perfect, but in reality served Iran more than any other government for the past 2 milleniums, Iran was trasformed from dirt into the point it was predicted to become an avanced superpower by 2 decades ago
Stupid Iranians, they keep changing dictators. Shah to Khomeini, Khomeini to Shah...It's time we tell the US to fuck off before we get another Shah in power, and let Iranians handle this shit on their own for a change.
actually the US is not supporting another Shah and the desision of who rule the nation will be up to the people under a free referandum also Reza Pahlavi, Shah's son is the only one. only some of his followers are proposing parliamenary monarchy, but the majority are in favor of secular democracy (he proposes secular democracy, too. not monarchy) anyway, any system other than the currents system will be better, but secular democracy is the best

This is a head scratcher.
