@shapeways is this material strong enough to be machined without fracturing?

@Bertziethegreat Have not tried this personally, but it would depend on the thickness, from and process you would like to use.
What did you have in mind?

@Bertziethegreat Hmm, it may work as a process but I am not sure of the shear strength, Alumide is slightly brittle compared to 3D printed Nylon.
I do not think it would fracture throughout the structure during the tapping process, only the threads may crack if it fails.
You could of course try and 3D model in the thread.
