To all the people reading this blog, please watch the movie Collapse. It is not some Conspiracy theorist individual. He discusses Conspiracy facts and talks about where this country is headed. It is not a horror movie but many people will be terrified after watching it.

Michael Ruppert did some brilliant research in his work "Truth and Lies of 9/11". Many dismiss his work as a "conspiracy theory", but he lays out all of his evidence in black and white with facts and sources that can be verified. However, Jim Marrs has published evidence in his book "Above Top Secret" which suggests the oil shortage may not be as Ruppert envisions it.

The Zeitgeist Movement (TZM) has been showing that we have the ability to generate energy, food, housing, health and education for everyone in the world, while, at the same time, we are able to ELIMINATE OUR ECONOMICAL, SOCIAL & ECOLOGICAL CRISIS along with corruption, poverty, abuse of power, unemployment, social stratification, and other factors that hinder the life and sustainability of the planet and its inhabitants. To know more about it, watch: "Zeitgeist Addendum" - It is on youtube

It's the great plateau that Hubbard described. To keep prices from skyrocketing at the pump they decrease demand, but eventually even with decreased demand the price still rises, though at a lower rate. The price of a barrel of oil is still going up, but the amount of oil we consume is going down a little bit, which offsets the rising price. However, we won't be able to wean ourselves off oil and therefore whenever the next big price jump happens will be when the oil based society falls.

Ruppert did some brilliant journalism in "The Truth and Lies of 9/11", but there is considerable evidence that we are nowhere near exhausting the world's oil supplies.

Instead of looking to Chavez and Venisuala for a good example I would point you to Denmark, or The Netherlands. They build their cities correctly and get people out of cars and on to bikes. Venezuala uses too much oil.

@samisacool1, and Richard Heinberg was right, too in his "Calm Before the Storm" (episode 115). We taped it in early June 2008, oil prices spiked in mid-July, and the economy collapsed in September.

You can keep up with Mike Ruppert at collapsenet-dot-com. He's creating a network for people on this wavelength to find each other while maintaining their privacy. And putting out his inimitable opinion pieces. Check it out!
