DL33 Roosevelt Elk make this their winter home and feeding ground. This old growth Cdf ecosystem is on the brink of extinction along with many species who live in there. This may be the last time you see these magnificent creatures and the Coastal Douglas Fir ecosystem wetland forest. It is tragic that the BC Government and the Nanoose First Nations and Timberwest see it worthless and only want to cut it down for money.

The real tragedy is the sewage that spills into the ocean from Nanoose Bay from the over population of people. The wells that have ran dry in the area from the over population of people. Anyone who lives in Nanoose bay should give up their over sized lots. What about all the forests that are gone already and now home to non-native trees and plants? Is Fairwinds going to give back the eco-sensitive area to nature? So now that you have backed these animals into a corner you want to save them?
