I totally agree with you. Hip hop has really gone downhill over the last 20 years. It seems like people in our bland, commercialized culture have all but forgotten what hip hop was originally about.

I think the larger issue is that people in our culture are becoming more ignorant and complacent as mass-media and techno-culture shorten their attention spans and replace real thought with garbage and propaganda. Not to mention that our culture worships narcissists.
