Dog attacks six-year-old at insurance office

Indianapolis - A six-year-old girl is recovering after an attack by two dogs at an east side insurance company.
"These are the teeth marks and it got really red," said the girl, Raeauna.
Her mother, Tabitha, says the more aggressive dog got loose as she paid her insurance bill Monday afternoon.
"Immediately started attacking Raeauna. It bit her all over her side, her back, her leg," she said. "My mom immediately grabbed her from the ground and started fighting with the dogs."
The dogs' owner, Pam Wilson, called 911 and explains the attack as an accident. She suspects her brown Husky mix named Stanley became jealous of Raeauna feeding candy corn to her other mix.
Wilson told Eyewitness News she brought her dogs to her business on East 10th Street for security. She says this is the first time they have shown any aggression.
But Animal Control took custody of both pets for quarantine. Tabitha says her daughter's bloody jeans shows the viciousness of the attack.
"They still have the teeth marks in them from where the dog grabbed her by the leg. If not for my mom, she probably wouldn't be here today," she said.
Raeauna limps from her injuries. Her mother hopes she makes a full recovery, both physically and emotionally.
An Animal Control officer cited Wilson for expired tags and shots, along with owner responsibility violations. The two dogs will remain in quarantine for the next 10 days.

  • I own an akc Siberian husky. She never bothers a soul. And every other purebred husky I've owns as well. I have a hybrid wolf / husky. He's a little jumpy but not violent. I also own a Husky / shepherd. That'll attack! Also if IT'S NOT A PUREBRED AKC SIBERIAN HUSKY it will have another breed in it and that can give it the personality! I've been following huskies my whole life. They are calm. They may look scary but they are not. In fact, I trust a wolf over a pit any day. My 7 YR OLD SON GOT BI

  • @XanderBrooke5 Good for you. I'm happy for you and your son.

  • Do you hate Huskies or something? It was a Husky MIX! Include that in the title. And the main reason dogs attack it's because they're treated badly not because they're bad dogs.

  • @Amanda111997 No, I don't hate Husky's. However, I do have a question, what's the relevance if it was a purebred husky or a mix? It was still a dog attacking a little girl.

Are you suggesting that only mixed breed dogs attack and purebred's have not and will not attack, ever?

  • @FUzupf you would have to do your research more! because Siberian Huskies are harmless to humans! they don't attack humans, they are too playful and too calm to ever attack even a dog... huskies are different from any other breed!

  • @DiamanteSPK ok

  • Son, change the headline of the video or PLEASE educate yourself. It was a HUSKY MIX, not a pure Husky!! It sounds exactly like you're a pit owner on a witch hunt to make other dog breeds look bad. You make me sick!!

  • @FUzupf Once again, you said when a "Husky attacks"; IT WAS A HUSKY MIX! My lord you are dunce. Also, I never said a word about "jumping up and wanting pits to be banned" - I don't have a problem with pits at all. I have a HUGE problem with a pit owner, running around and making up lies that make other breeds look bad. Your a bitter pit owner trying to make huskies look bad. Once again, change the headline of the video, or the negative comments towards you will continue.

  • @seventhSabra Sibes are less likely to bite than other husky type/mixed breeds, but they still can given the worse-case mix of circumstances. On the same mmrw report on the cdc website, further reading in the table section will show that most of the bites that put the 'husky type' on this list were not from purebreds, but mixes. So it is true that purebreds are safer, but can still bite., though no husky I've ever met has of yet.

  • @omgwowpplRdumm Also, on the CDC site you can find a guide for people on how to properly approach dogs and the warning signs to look for to avoid problems...Nearly 100% of these attacks could have been avoided had people been more educated, attentive, and responsible. Its about like a gun...in the hands of an imbecile, it will hurt people...a dog with dumb people can bite

  • @seventhSabra I also breed Siberian huskies...and have 3 adults as family pets...and I love them. I also loved the pit bull I inherited from a friend that has since passed nearly 10 years ago....and he wouldn't hurt a bug...and my huskies are just super around my friend's infant...the sensationalism that is put on all these breeds by news reports is bs..they never look at what the owners or people around the dog were doing.

  • @seventhSabra If you go to the CDC's webpage and search dog bite fact sheet, it will bring up the mmrw study they did...which in table 1 shows this top ten in order of most bites to least....Husky type being #4. Also any search on Bing or Google for CDC top 10 dangerous dog breeds you will get numerous sites that will show the same list...also, your homeowners insurance will have this same list...your a Doctor...this is easy research...do some

  • @690169 ...I've seen severely abused Huskies while volunteering at Husky rescues that still refuse to bite, it's just not in their blood.

  • @690169 ...now there are other Husky breeds which will bite, there are wolf hybrids, and countless other breeds who get mistaken for Huskies, then behave badly and people blame the Husky. Alaskan Husky, Yukon Husky, Canadian Eskimo Dog, Malamute, Samoyed, Wolf Hybrid, Wolfhound, Greenland Husky, Mackenzie River Husky, and many others all look like a Siberian (true) Husky to the simpleton's eye (which is 99.99% of people). No one's heard of these breeds, so a Husky gets the defacto blame.

  • @690169 Pure Siberian Huskies don't bite. Once again I'll explain it. The breed came into existence because curious wolves would integrate with a human tribe. The gentile ones would be kept and eventually breeding began. With each litter, any aggressive dogs were killed, only the one who wouldn't harm humans especially newborn human babies were kept, then bred again. So not biting became a matter of survival; now the urge to bite is genetically absent from the Husky.
