Shantou Teochew Chiu-Chow TV - Cooking Show- Pigeon Soup with Medicinal Herbs
(Languange: in Shantou/Chaozhou)
INTERESTING FACTS: As many as 80% of Bangkok Thailand's population and 30% of the Chinese Vietnamese come from the Shantou Chaozhou region. Of course we cannot forget the 30% of Chinese Singaporeans, 20% of Chinese Malaysians, 18% of Hong-Kongnese, and 10% of Macau-ese who also are of Chaozhou/Shantou ancestry.
The greatest comments I've gotten from viewers is that they can show these videos to their parents and grand-parents who are still fluent in the dialect, and they get a kick out of it. So share, show, and enjoy these videos with your family and friends alike. Continue to use your language and pay a visit to Shantou/Chaozhou, your ancestral homeland at least once (I suggest 3 times) in your lifetime. Best to all.
thank you my country man!

The interview section was done in pure Teochew.
In the cooking section, the girl in light blue was speaking only Mandarin, while the other girl in purple spoke pure Teochew. The Teochew is quite formal, so it's difficult for us residing elsewhere to fully follow.

What language are you speaking lady? She speaks less than 25% Teochew. Speak the language properly to your audience can understand you otherwise you are wasting your time and the audience's.
I can understand the guys but the girl does not speak proper Teochew. Teochew is all over the places when it comes to a common language. Teochew language needs to be standardized. Maybe I should be the one who initiates the codification and standardization of the language. what do you think?

King Taksin Chinese name is ZhengZhao.
he was born in Ayutthaya, kingdom of Thai (not
Chenghai, where his father from)
he crowned as Thai king in 1768 and took the
title as HM Somdet Phra Chao Taksin Maharaj

Most Thais are either teochew or hakka, as matter of fact, in 1734 King Taksin, the great
was actually a teochew man born in Chenghai, Chaozhou. He ruled the Thai kingdom during the
Thonburi era. thus even today, present Thai kind also admitted he's part Chinese(may be
of teochew origin)

I'm a Teochew but I live in Indonesia, and my dialect is quiet different from this, I can't understand all but my mother can understand this older version one fully XD My grandparent still speaks like this... Ah , such a good relief to listen to it;since I move to this town, I feel sometime miss talking/listening to Teochew like back in hometown, no one speaks Teochew here despise he/she is a Teochew :(
