Part two of two of '100 years of popular music in the U.S.', with pics of culture, politics, fashion, etc. accompanying the music.

Various charts were used, but primarily 'Tsort' and 'Billboard'. Randomly picked top ten hits were used for the most part. Before there were 'top 10' charts, I just used popular tunes from those years.

  • Ac/dc and The Jimi Hendrix Experience

    JHE is everything for Music

  • Agreed on both comments. Love Jimi - transcendent! But these weren't 'chosen' per se, but based instead on Top 40 pop/rock lists. Looots of folks I would include if just personal preference. ;) Thx for the comment

  • Wonderful!! Rip MJ <3

  • Thank you!

And yes, such an influential man in all of it! Can't imagine the time line w/o him.

  • Outstanding.

  • Hey, thanks again. Certainly glad you checked it out - it was a fun project.

  • Where are Michael Jackson's?

    - Thriller

    - Smooth Criminal

    - Bad

    - Black or White

    - Scream

    - Earth Song

They by miles overshadow many of the songs in the same year as them that were put here....

  • Yea you got the Beatles!!!

  • It's really nice to be able to see back 100 years. If you go back far enough, you hit a wall, where all music is just written down and you can play it, but not like a master at the time might have, and if it was sung, you'll never really know what it sounded like.

  • lol you got the Toronto Blackout of 2003 in here :D

  • Wow, it was really neat watching all the way through 100 years and seeing how the different genres evolved.

  • Pink Floyd impacted more in 1973 with Dark Side of the Moon, than in 1979 with The Wall. The images are very beautiful.

  • Thank you so much for posting these! I absolutely love them!

  • Black Eyed Peas too were big in 2009.

  • Oh, and Taylor Swift and Black Eyed Peas too!

  • Too bad this ended just one year away from Lady GaGa!
