Yeah, nothing sounds like an Escort! I don't know why they're so distinctive, but I love it. I'd never even heard of an English Escort until a year ago. Now it's my all-time-favorite-car-I-must-o­wn-someday! I even love the little-bitty wheels. Who needs GEARING? Just put some tiny wheels on that bitch, and there you go...instant acceleration. I rarely need to hit top speed anyway. I always had this dream of seeing a Mk II built to Group B specs...rear-engine, AWD, 500HP...that'd be sick.

My feelings exactly. Except the right-hand drive diss. SO much crap sold in the US. I've never drove one, but I think it'd be kind of cool, and it belongs like that in an Escort. I just can't get over the idea of using my LEFT hand to shift and fiddle with the radio and hold beer in. Creepy. I guess you could get used to anything, but it just seems...un-natural, you know? Unless you're left-handed...

I agree about it looking like an old Toyota (or vice versa). That's a GOOD thing, to me.
