In May of 1990, Ringo performed at a John Lennon Tribute Concert with 23 other artists. It was held in Liverpool. Elton John, U2, Cyndi Lauper and others were also in attendance. Ringo performed this classic previously sung by John with The Beatles in 1964. Ringo also has a few words to say about his former friend and bandmate before he kicks in with the song. This show was officially released in 1991, but only on VHS (remember those?) and is now long out of print. Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty and Jim Keltner also participate on this recording.

  • In my opinion, Ringo could have did a little more of this, singing Beatle songs. It sounds just like a fresh take on a Beatle song by a Beatle. Ringo sounds just like he did when he was a Beatle.

I wonder how Ringo doing a song like She Loves You would be with the Wilburys singing backup. Slow it down a little, update it just a little, he might be able to pull it off.

  • Oh Ringo, you're completely adorable :3
