Apple recently released their newest software update, iOS 7, for iPhones and iPads. Some Detractors of the update have taken to Apple's official forum, claiming the software has given them motion sickness.
Consumer complaints include, "The zoom animations everywhere on the new iOS 7 are literally making me nauseous and giving me a headache." Another customer complained, "it hurts my eyes and makes me dizzy."
Most users commenting in Apple's forum report having called the company's support line only to be told that there was no way to fully disable the effects.
The criticism stems from the operating systems new shifting parallax effect on the home screen, as well as zoom animations throughout the software. Some users also described the fake 3-D effects, that appear when using the multitask function, as nauseating.
An accessibility option called "Reduce Motion" is available in the settings of the phone, but selecting this option only reduces the nauseating parallax effect. Many users say that they've resorted to downgrading their devices from iOS 7 to iOS 6.
Some sources, however, are reporting that downgrading to certain specific versions of the ios 6 is no longer possible. This is due to the fact that apple has stopped digitally signing older software versions, meaning prior updates will no longer be available for installation.
