He didn't try to sit in the back, he would had never fit. I have one of these vehicles and it's a nice concept but it comes with mayor issues of suspension problems. You need to replace the rear springs w/ CX-7 rear springs and replace the frontal stabilizer bar w/ a Mazda 3 wagon one (2.3 engine or the speed). If you take care of these 2 issues your set. It's a 4 seater for adults and Kids go in the 3rd row. It's the only complaint I have, the rest is good.
The british cars are dead. The french ones are awful value for the buck - impossible to sell after 5 years(thoug popular on the Continent), and the germans far to unreliable (althoug BMW offers some striking features). US cars lack the reliability of the japanese, the technical achievment of the germans and the "soft" values of the french. Europeans dont´t need big pickups or SUVs with oozing petrol needs, and the americans can´t afford them anymore.
Diesel rules! A pity You don´t use diesel in the US. The diesel engines are so much sassier than the petrol ones. The Mazda 5 is a nice drive. Just bought one :) Love it. The handling is good and the reliability is said to be excellent. The strains on a car in Nordic conditions are much harsher than in a drier and hotter environment. So up here we have to choose "cheap to own" cars.
