Since 39-A is going to remain in its shuttle configuration for a while, they should take one of the shuttle mock-ups (Pathfinder or Explorer) and mate it to the tank and boosters on display at the Visitor's Center and have it at the pad while they still can. That would be the coolest museum piece in the world!
with the shuttle gone Launch Pad 39 will go back to the way it was when Apollo 11 used it empty and surrounded by lighting towers. the reason being the new SLS,Liberty, and Falcon 10 ships have different hook ups.
made me so emotional watching Discovery again :( I truly admire NASA and all the work that goes into the space programs

@andrebrannan1953 nitrogen burners. They burn off any free nitrogen. If not, we lost a shuttle. Very important.

Pretty sick video. I've been to Pad B when it was modified for Ares l-X and got to go to Pad A white room

Just before the Shuttle engines light up there are things that look like fireworks showering in towards the motor nozzles what are they for?

@geomodelrailroader pad B already has been deconstructed. I imagine A will be too, but not sure.
