Pushing After Effects to its limits.

Created ENTIRELY in Adobe After Effects CS5. Some plugins were used to create some of the effects (Mainly Trapcode Particular and Videocopilot's Optical Flare) but no external software was used.

This has taken about 3 years to put together on and off. Mainly because each section went through dozens of revisions before i was happy. I originally intended to include more sections to complete the song, but i figured it would take another few years before i was happy with them. I've got enough other complete sections for a whole other version of this video, but they just didn't quite make the cut. Maybe i'll do an extra video later on.

This originally started with me trying to discipline myself to not release a video until i was completely happy with it, however this is a point i'll very rarely reach. Like i mentioned above, it could have taken another 3 years before i'd felt that the whole thing was perfect. By that point a lot of the effects would be much simpler to create (see CS6's raytracing + Videocopilot's Element 3D).

Very very cool, I love the one at 0:38, but I'm also curious how did you also do it only using AE? Especially the 3d stuff, you had to have used 3ds max or something.
