  • Completely agreed. I was wondering if you have any idea why were are the only ones that have to have their civil rights voted on 1 state at a time instead of getting our civil rights through the courts like every other group that got their civil rights? I am actually doing a paper on gay marriage and I can't seem to get a straight answer.

  • 1) the last sentence you wrote was brilliant! :P

    2) really... you aren't going to like the answer...

    because you let it.

I'm sick of being in a community that is limp and too self-involved. American members of the GLBT community need to get their shit together if they want this - and Canada's GLBT community needs to start caring too!

  • Big homo!!!... lmao, just kidding... human sexuality is a joke in and of itself... it's evolved from something natural into something purely intellectual... if you want people to stop victimizing your, then stop acting like victims, stand proud and tall, and stop dwelling on your sexuality...

Remember, being gay does not define who you are unless you allow it.

  • something can be a defining characteristic without it defining who you are. I tend to treat my sexuality as such as i think is clearly evident in my videos. This doesn't mean I don't look out for my own, however - or condemn the fact that they aren't looking out for themselves, which is the point of this video.

And I disagree with your assertion that sexuality is a joke. I think something that defines our romantic life is beautiful and spectacular and to be enjoyed. :D

  • I'm not saying that some may find it a beautiful thing... what I am saying is that sex for procreation is no longer the defining point of human sexuality. We've intellectualized it to the point that it is more of an addiction, or maybe like a sport... There are "Teams" and "Sides" and the need to "look out for your own"... The whole consept is comical...

  • Human nature itself is divinely comical. Imagine, if you will, we stop dividing ourselves up by the very things we do now... that won't help the matters much considering that we are just going to find something new to bicker about. Be it hair colour or length of the pinky toe. The need to create sides and define others as kindred and the opposition as outsiders is ingrained in every aspect from the films we see to our political or religious bents. Welcome to the easiest existence to satirize.

  • I was SO pissed when I read that in the news the other day.

I find it funny that white-trash-inbred-rednecks always talk about how much they hate "Commies" and Nazis, etc. yet they oppose freedom as much as anyone else.

  • Oh don't get me wrong, I think the overall message of the video was very good, it's just that I've been frustrated at people making unfair criticisms of the court, so that part kinda stood out for me in a bad way.

  • Yes, There is absolutely no reason to be upset at the court. And sure, your argument of implication is usually valid, but I do still think the video was best served by not being too specific. I could have said "...has now declared that an amendment revoking your rights is constitutionally valid" - but the point of the video is more to do with how the LGBT community doesn't really stand up for itself anymore. Not to mention implications can come from anywhere, mostly in the viewer's mind.

  • There is absolutely no good reason to be upset at the court. None.
