This piece is much like (Zeromus) Last Battle in FF4 (the melody) and Gilgamesh' theme in FF5 (the accompany). I'll throw you a bonus tip: compare "Aeris' theme" in FF7 to "Aria di mezzo carattere" in FF6; the beginning is identical. Uematsu has a clear tendency to refining and reusing his works.
sounds like a 80's work out song, I hated this game when i first played it an still do to this day the omni slash was hot an that was the only good out of the game an to me the worst ff ever, but thats just my opinion which really don't matter
To make him a good guy would've been wrong I think, yes he was way fuking cool and for the few seconds you get to stand alongside him and battle is legendary. But like a good film it's great top watch and play as this man who once fought for the same team you were on, descends onto a path of darkness. In his own mind Sephiroth is the good guy and feels part of something better than humanity. Love all that shit with Genova. The reunion and all the flashback stuff. I need to play this game again
Firstly let me say what an excellent bad dude I thought Sephiroth is and think he was one of the first bad guys with such detail and back story. Every boss in the ff games since tend to be a bit feminine looking. Anyway people say he's not got enough depth and he wasn't a good bad guy. He has a great backstory which creates a flawed character in him. You see and hear the story of his past and who, what he is and you understand and feel for him but it's too late as he crosses the line into madnes
@piromaniac9999 Excellent points. I think those would have been more interesting directions as well. But we got what we got. And, hey, he made Square a ton of money and he gives the fangirls something nice to look at, so I guess not taking creative chances pays off for some people.
There is something you could have done:instead of making him the main villain, make him the side villain and die dramatically in the middle and make you feel sorry and go after hojo and have cloud avenge sephiroth
Maybe make cloud's respect for sephiroth that he's actually outraged and angry by hojo's actions.
Or perhaps:make sephiroth join your team and learn magic and fight against jenova?
I thought he would make a better hero than villain as i could empathise with him.
@piromaniac9999 You are so right about him not having any character development. However, that's mostly because you can't develop a character like Sephiroth. What, is he supposed to become even more crazy? Is he supposed to reveal that he's a huge softy underneath? If you develop him, you take away from his badass-ness. I personally don't like him as a villian, either. But I'm just saying, you couldn't develop him much without badass decay.
