@flash51050 Ya that's high, I just measured mine, it's 160/110, I think I might be in stage 2 hyperthingamagiger. But this is the first time I've measured in forever, maybe if i check it every day for a few weeks i'll be able to know for sure.

Thank you so much for uploading these teaching videos. I am currently in nursing school and these have helped me tremendously. Your knowledge of the subject and delivery are superb sir. At 3:10 I laughed out a loud a little... "So, you can tell at the moment, my brain is being perfused, because...hopefully it's working." LOL!

@Zac147147 check your kidney again, ill tell you why because renin secreted by JG cells(in the kidneys) of afferent arterioles in response to low blood pressure or low plasma sodium will convert angiotensinogen (a plasma protein secreted by liver) into ANG-I, which is converted to ANG-II by ACE (found in the endolthelia of blood vessels and lung capillaries). ANG-II will increase blood pressure, sodium, and stimulate thirst by acting on circumventricular organs of the brain, hope you get better

about a month ago i got surgery on my stomach. it was an excision of a urachal remnant....one week later i got a lithotripsy to break apart a kidney stone(i have yet to pass the stone). the day of my first surgery they took my blood pressure and it was unuusally high,,,they said hes just nervous. After the surgery they OD me on morphine and i went unconscience for 45 minutes. my blood pressure hasnt been normal since then.

hi im an 11 year old girl and my dad has a pressure of 165 i dont know what happend please please tell me how to solve this sir thank you
iwoveujoejonas123 3 years ago
Dear Iwoveu,
I assume this is your Dads first pressure (i.e. his systolic pressure)? If it is then things are very treatable for him. He needs some medicines called ACE inhibitors, unless his doctor prefers another type of drug. As long as he takes these he should be fine. There is no need for you to worry. Just make sure he goes to a doctor for these medicines and do not worry,

Pride comes before the fall....the problem in health care is it that others feel the pain of the fall, even although the pride is our.

I agree with Dr Anand
The Bio-Mechnical model of human existance has been over come by the psycho-bio-mechanical model. You must have heard of PsychoNeuroImmunology.

This explains why BP will remain elevated during sleep in renin excess hypertension. if the cause is more psychogenic the BP will fall during sleep, as it does in some patients,
