I'm against horse racing too, but this was not horse racing. I personally don't see anything wrong with horse and carriage as long as the animals are taken care of. Now if there is some secret behind the scenes stuff I don't know about then let me know. I don't wish to support animal cruelty of any kind. Anyway great vid Allison and keep up the great work. I was wondering the same thing??? Love ya Allison but after you said that statement about the horse there was a man pulling a carriage at 1:30 lol is that cruelty? Probably not right lol. I love animals and I don't think this is a problem.

great video! Just curious, but how is horse-drawn carriage cruel? Is it unreasonable weight for the horses to pull?

It's not the pulling of the weight - horses are VERY strong! But NYC is a noisy, busy place - lots of smog, loud noises with hard pavement. It's a bad environment for horses. It's hot, they don't get lots of water or rest, and they also don't get much leisure time to graze and run free. Handlers are often times inexperienced and not real horsemen. I grew up on a horse farm, so seeing them on the streets breaks my heart.

I wish I lived in NYC! I have been begging my husband for 6 months to move there. It looks like such a coold place to live.

I love it here! It's loud and crazy, but it can also be quiet and neighborhood-y.
