Cushman Engine Almost Done

Made good progress on the 4 HP Cushman engine this weekend. However as usual I have waited until the end to clean the nasty fuel tank.
Oh well, I also need to order a copper o ring for the intake valve cage. I will go to hit and miss enterprises for that.

Hi,

I have just bought a well looked after REO mower. It also has leather straps on it. But they are 2 of them. I think they are 2 for better balance.

My guess for their function is that, as someone has already said, they were keeping the dirt from entering the shroud. Just a guess.
