Tango français - Lucienne BOYER !

Lucienne Boyer (1901-1983) is reproaching: „Ah, why do you lie ?!" , Lady-in-Blue, the most popular French lady singer in pre-war Poland. I find elegance and delicacy in her renditions, however, a little flame burning brightly underneath may be sensed, too (the present rendition !). Visited Warsaw in 1937 and gave concerts in the Great Theatre which happened 21 years later, again. Miss Boyer had a few tangos in her repertoire and it was not easy for me to make the final choice. A photo taken from "AS", 1937; was accompanying an interview given by the star for this popular Polish weekly magazine of those years.
