  • Great video, but the music is too dirge like to complement the video.

  • @6motion6 i agree - i'll change it

  • This is great footage. I love 'old' NY. It's so amusing to see the trolley car tracks and so few vehicles in the streets. Nearly every man wore a hat, and every woman a skirt or dress, so quaint, even at the cusp of the 'roaring twenties' where things were about to change drastically. Does Times square and Broadway ever change? They just add more neon lights now! lol.

  • @Voyagersguidebook DID YOU NOTICE THEY WEREN'T HOLDING HAND HELD DEVICES?

  • haha lucknow was much much much better at that time then at this time it had completed its 200! years

  • As a New Yorker, I must say--there ain't nothin' like ol' New York in the good ol' days. Great video.

  • @Voyagersguidebook

    Technological*

  • @Voyagersguidebook would'nt go that far......I mean It's not like Technologicak advances have'nt improved our lives in many many ways......i mean you're seeing this "old" footage through a telephone conection of some sort....so saying you "don't even own a cell"....is realy rather pointles.....

That's just the way it is old bean......

  • LOL. Oh righhht! People actually had to talk face to face and pay attention to where they walked. Kids played with each other and in the streets/sidewalks..not on Nintendo DS all day! It slipped my mind, I'm not tied down to any of hand held devices..I don't even own a cell phone..it's a travesty. :)

  • It was torn down because the R.R.'s were losing tons of money in the 60's, and Penn Central could MAKE money by selling the air rights to Penn Station with the buildings we see today, not to mention the 'old' Penn was seriously decrepit at that point... Sad, huh?
