Hands down, the best instrumental interpretation of this classic, a real masterpiece--would be pure dynamite for Pat to play lead on this with Paco de Lucia backing him up on, plus a conga player. Pat has delivered pure gold here. And Barbara Streisand, for me, has the most moving, most soulful vocal version of this classic. Thanks, Pat Metheny. Right on, brother.

It sounds like Pat found an audience from looking back for some good memories in great old tunes. I am happy to hear him perform solo. He is doing a very nice job. It's never too late. FYI there are thousands of transcripts of great tunes published in Just Jazz Guitar Magazine for solo guitar with wonderful arrangements by the guitarist who do this every night of the week 50 weeks of the year. I bet Pat is checking them out.

Now ... seriously .... and just as Pat mentions in his most beautiful words, probably one of the most beloved songs if not THE MOST LOVED PIECE OF THE 20th CENTURY, especially by Musicians. In relation to Pat's marvelous rendition, what can I say ... I revere it ... an endless pure streamlet full of Light chords from the Heart*
