As a gift for Matthew Ebel for Christmas 2009, I bought him a Casio SK-1 on eBay, and used Highly Liquid's UMR-1 MIDI Retrofit kit to have the keyboard respond to MIDI commands from a computer.

You can find Matthew's music at http://www.matthewebel.com, on iTunes and CDBaby.
Highly Liquid's website is here: http://highlyliquid.com

  • very nice video mate, helps. mine works

  • Tony Starks!!!

  • Thanks to your post I decided to pull my old Yamaha PSR-77 out of the closet and add in a UMR. It's thankfully 10x as roomy as the SK-1.

  • Oh man. That sound.. that shape... I have a functioning Casio SA-10 sitting across me right now. The first out of currently three keyboards I've used throughout my life, and somehow it outlived the second one... I still love some of the sounds it's got.

  • nice work! :)
