John Donovan of Donovan's Hobby and Scuba center http://www.donovanshsc.com
has been holding these indoor electric fly-ins for a few years now. It is always fun. John is retired now, but still flies regularly. We have lots of fun and today we got to see a flight demonstration of the new Pogo from Great Planes. Just like the real one (see my video on it) http://www.youtube.com/nightflyyer#p/u/5/QrsjnC3W1mg
it must be landed vertically or you will damage the prop, motor and nose, as you will see.
This is an "everytime thing" that must be done, so you really need to be an accomplished pilot.
Also, it is very difficult to see, and mine would have red and green wing tips, so I would not pull up when it is upside down, which is easily done.
If you want to have some fun, and it is too cold outside, then come on down to John's monthly fly-in and have some fun.

On a separate note, I found these 1300 Mah High Discharge rate 2 cell lipos for only $9.74 each. That is really a good deal, as they work perfectly in my CH-46. It is 33 grams lighter, 25 % more capacity and smaller than the 800MA stock CH-46 battery. Check out http://www.gravityhobby.com

Thanks for watching and subscribing.

  • Glad to see you guys having some fun indoors, thats a must in the winter, lol.

  • Looks like a fantastic event. I can't help wonder though, if the AMA membership requirements might be a little stringent, considering the scale of many of the planes flying. (minimal risk of damage or injury). I'm sure many casual fliers and kids are not part of AMA who fly small helis and planes, and these folks would probably enjoy participating in this event and make it more successful. THEN you can promote AMA to them. Thanks Dave!
